Waveney Domestic Violence & Abuse Forum have a membership of over 145 voluntary & statutory organisations & we meet as a Forum bi-monthly. We are always very pleased to invite new agencies to join us. If you would like to know when we hold our meetings, please contact us via our contacts page.

Job Vacancies

Charity Manager Role – Part Time

30 hours per week

£13 per hour

Based in Lowestoft

Waveney Domestic Violence & Abuse Forum is an independent registered charity established in 1981, providing support for families impacted by domestic violence and abuse. Our office is located in Lowestoft Suffolk

This is a really exciting opportunity for someone who would love to work in such a great sector, “make a difference” and help us to deliver our mission.

Working for a charity requires passion, dedication and resilience and you’ll love it! You will help to make a real difference in people’s lives, work with some great people and lead on exciting projects and initiatives.

Your main role will be running and growing this small charity to offer more victims and survivors of domestic violence the support they need to thrive. You must have a car and be able to travel to events. Some meetings are held in the evenings.

WDVAF Manager JD

Advice & Guidance Worker – Part Time

20 hours per week

£12 per hour

This is a really exciting opportunity for someone who would love to work in such a great sector, “make a difference” and help us to deliver our mission.

Working for a charity requires passion, dedication and resilience and you’ll love it! You will help to make a real difference in people’s lives, work with some great people and lead on exciting projects and initiatives.

Your main role will be offering support and advice to victims and survivors of abuse over the phone, by email and face to face as appropriate. You’ll be signposting them to other agencies (e.g., mental health services, housing, substance misuse) and community support groups.

You will have to build good relationships with service users to understand the level of risk that they are in and put together effective plans and a course of action. You will need to regularly update the progress of these plans. You’ll be responsible for managing a caseload of clients fleeing/suffering from harmful practices and domestic abuse.

Bookkeeper/Finance Manager – Part-Time

8 hours per month

£10 per hour

Working for a charity requires passion, dedication and resilience and you’ll love it! You will help to make a real difference in people’s lives, work with some great people and lead on exciting projects and initiatives.

We are seeking a confident and experienced Finance Officer to be responsible for the financial activities and reporting to ensure that financial rules are followed.

The role will include the following activities:

· Monitor expenditure and income.

· Pay invoices and reconcile bank transactions in Xero.

· Produce and present financial reports to trustees at monthly meetings.

· Must be proficient using Xero accounting software.

Trustees Required

Waveney Domestic Violence & Abuse Forum (WDVAF) are looking for dedicated people to join our voluntary Board of Trustees.

WDVAF has been in existence for over 40 years. We are a small yet dynamic charity with a membership of over 145 partnership agencies. Our aim is to reach families impacted by domestic abuse to ensure they are well supported and can move forward to lead lives free from abuse.

We are wishing to increase the diversity of the board and welcome application from all ages, backgrounds and skill sets. You will need to be able to attend our monthly Trustees meetings and have a day a month free to dedicate to supporting WDVAF.

Ideally you will have an understanding of the impact of domestic abuse on families but this is not essential.

We are particularly interested in finding individuals with skills in these areas:

  • Fundraising
  • Legal services
  • Finance

Volunteers Required

Waveney Domestic Violence & Abuse Forum (WDVAF) are looking for volunteers to join our team.

WDVAF have helped and supported those impacted by domestic violence and abuse in the Waveney area for over 35 years. Become a volunteer and be a part of something that can make a huge difference to those affected by abuse. We welcome interest from all ages, backgrounds and skill sets.
